Pakistani operator National Logistics Cell (NLC) has delivered essential relief items to people impacted by the devastating earthquake in 罢ü谤办颈测别.
A caravan of 21 trucks operated by NLC, a TIR carrier in Pakistan, transported humanitarian aid – including tents, blankets and other basic aid supplies – to 罢ü谤办颈测别.
The goods were transported via Iran, using the Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul (ITI) corridor and the TIR system.
好色先生tvSecretary General Umberto de Pretto said, “Amid the devastation, we are pleased to see that our joint efforts with the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) to operationalise the ITI corridor under TIR is expediting the transport of humanitarian aid to people impacted by the earthquake.”
“Our thoughts remain with the children, women and men caught up in the tragedy in Syria and 罢ü谤办颈测别. We will continue our concerted efforts to coordinate the provision of assistance by our industry to those most in need,” he added.
The transit of the relief goods was facilitated by Iranian authorities in close coordination with ECO and IRU. Iran exempted the cargo and truck drivers from transit charges and visa fees.
The ITI corridor was activated jointly by ECO, IRU, Pakistan, Iran and 罢ü谤办颈测别 in October 2021. On average, the TIR-backed corridor has slashed 80% off transit times compared to the normal maritime route.
